This would be that "career" thing I've heard so much about...

A Couple Of Wednesday Thoughts And Some Haiku

Mostly... "I'm sleepy." And also, "It's really warm in my office." Then, "I get a 3 day weekend!" and "Thank goodness we'll have sparklers on Monday." (Ahem.)

The fan in my door
competes with six computers
that radiate heat.

I'd like to swim now
but they make no corporate pools
that I'm aware of.

There are actually corporate pools. I interviewed once at a place with a full on-site gym that you could use during the day, including a pool, sauna, and racketball courts. Sigh.

You could come to hang out with us if you want - we're doing a Halo Fest the morning of the fourth, then BBQ - also, FYI, James is having trouble finding sparklers - I wonder if they are legal in Cali? Hm. It was a staple of the 4th of Julys I remember. SO SAD. Do you guys want to hang out? Also - when can you go camping?!

Also... WHY DIDN'T YOU TAKE THAT JOB!!! Corporate pools.... Mmmmmm...

Of course, the temperature they keep MOST corporate rooms, I suspect I'd be too cold all day to think about swimming...

I didn't take the job because it would have been a 10% pay cut, and when I tried to negotiate for more money, the person who would have been my "boss" said "Hell! I don't even make that much!!" Which made me question the overall potential for growth. I am making double what I would have made there...

I thought corporate pools were when you bet who would get drunk first at the Christmas party? There is another kind of corporate pool? Of course, in my business, any little puddle of water becomes a "corporate pool"!
